[ Oria looks at Kurapika for a moment before sitting down on his own chair, spinning in it once, and then away from him by facing his own desk instead.
[ With a huff, Kurapika wheels himself back to his desk, silently eating his cake.
...It really is good and he's kind of mad about it. Does this mean Oria has good taste? That he's good at picking things out? Kind of fucked up, really. ]
[ Only if Oria knew, then he'd be like "why you so mad. it's cake??". Alas. He doesn't really do anything noteworthy for the night other than playing games on his phone with headphones on and using his tablet to chat with other people.
Over the next week, Oria will learn that Kurapika is a pretty quiet roommate. He doesn't let his alarm go off for more than a few seconds, he doesn't take long in the shower, and he doesn't try to encroach on Oria's space. Most of his free time is spent reading or out of the room doing... whatever it is he's doing. Once, he doesn't come back at all during the night, only to show back up in their room after lunch, studying at his desk like he wasn't gone before.
Wednesday has been like normal, Kurapika waking up early in the morning for class and heading off to spend most of the day outside of their room. It's only when it's close to the time that Oria suggested they go look at the dogs that he swings by so they can walk to the greens together.
And there are a lot of students already there, along with a lot of dogs of all sizes. Puppies flop around all over one another while bigger dogs jump on students and nearly push them over. ]
[ Since Kurapika is usually the one who leaves first and returns the latest, he doesn't get to see Oria do much other than sleep. He's usually out during daytime hours, so they end up missing each other a lot.
But of course, since they pretty much made time to go to see the dogs together, Oria meets up with Kurapika to go together. ]
People are gonna flock to dogs. They love them.
[ Oria looks at how crowded it is. Damn. He says that, but even he's surprised at the turn out. ]
What kind of dog do you wanna be with?
[ Despite being the one who suggested the idea, Oria seems pretty neutral on dogs as opposed to many people looking ecstatic when they see one pass by. ]
[ Kurapika doesn't answer, instead letting a German Shepherd puppy waddle right up to him, and he kneels down to pet it. It seems like this one is just fine for him, because he has no problem petting the puppy, scratching behind its ears and then its belly when it flops onto the grass and then on its back. ]
Are you not a fan of dogs?
Edited (YOU DIDN'T SEE ME FORGET THE BREED) 2024-11-14 04:02 (UTC)
[ There's a little smile on Kurapika's face as he rubs the puppy's belly. He seems perfectly content to just do this, honestly, and he eventually sits down on the grass so the puppy can wiggle around in his lap. ]
[ Yes they were. They were totally bad and they're a little bit better now that he has a puppy in his lap, squirming around and nipping at his fingers. Kurapika lets it, even indulging a little bit and letting the puppy gnaw on him.
I’m neither. But if you’re so convinced… tell me how they were rancid, then.
[ He demands proof!! The puppy continues gnawing on his fingers, but he pulls them away, causing the dog to start jumping on him. Again, he doesn’t seem to mind. ]
Have you considered that I’m simply focused on more important things?
[ He lets the puppy jump on him a few times, but after that he decides it’s time for air jail, and he holds the puppy up in the air, hands securely under its arms. ]
[ The puppy surprisingly is not wiggling in his hold… but it is trying to get his fingers still, twisting its head back and forth between Kurapika’s hands.

Unfortunately, Oria's pride won't allow that sort of thing. ]
I'm not desperate for company, and I'm only going because you seriously need to relax.
no subject
[ He's the picture perfect definition of relaxed, thanks!! Look at him, he's even leaning back in his chair a little bit.
That's totally relaxed. ]

0% belief ]

[ Says Kurapika, rolling over so he can push at the back of Oria's chair with a socked foot. ]
no subject
[ The chair swerves and it makes Oria face Kurapika. Oi. ]
I don't wanna hear that from someone who just pushed my chair with his foot! You wanna play footsie??
no subject
[ He has half a mind to push at the chair again and it's obvious by the look in his face that he's thinking about it. ]

I didn't expect this to be so crowded.

This again. Oria looks at the puppy and Kurapika petting it. ]
No, I don't feel particularly strong about them. But look, isn't it cute? Enough to melt your heart?
no subject
[ There's a little smile on Kurapika's face as he rubs the puppy's belly. He seems perfectly content to just do this, honestly, and he eventually sits down on the grass so the puppy can wiggle around in his lap. ]
Are you going to stand there and watch?
no subject
[ But even then, he wouldn't really pay attention much to the dogs anyway, which is an absolute crime why don't you love them oria ]
Do you feel all the bad vibes sinking to the ground and stuff?
no subject
My "vibes" weren't bad to begin with.
[ Yes they were. They were totally bad and they're a little bit better now that he has a puppy in his lap, squirming around and nipping at his fingers. Kurapika lets it, even indulging a little bit and letting the puppy gnaw on him.
But, he also points at the space next to him. ]
Sit down.

[ Despite that, he sits next to him since he's invited. ]

[ He demands proof!! The puppy continues gnawing on his fingers, but he pulls them away, causing the dog to start jumping on him. Again, he doesn’t seem to mind. ]

[ He looks at the puppy trying to jump on Kurapika and almost snickers. ]
Maybe you're just unaware.

[ He lets the puppy jump on him a few times, but after that he decides it’s time for air jail, and he holds the puppy up in the air, hands securely under its arms. ]

[ He looks at Kurapika, then at the puppy, and back to him. ]
Making air jail for an innocent teething puppy?
no subject
He clearly likes it.
[ The puppy surprisingly is not wiggling in his hold… but it is trying to get his fingers still, twisting its head back and forth between Kurapika’s hands.
It’s cute. ]

Do you feel more relaxed now?
[ ... ]
More than usual.

You're so annoying.
